01Overview
You can permanently delete your Zambid account at any time, from inside the mobile app or by emailing us. This page explains both paths, what data is removed, and what we are required to keep — and for how long.
Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted you cannot recover your handle, watch history, addresses, or saved payout methods. Wins and orders that are still in transit must be closed out before the account is removed.
02Delete from the mobile app (recommended)
The fastest way is from the app itself. If you are signed in, follow these steps:
- Open the Zambid app on your phone or tablet.
- Tap your avatar in the bottom-right to open your profile.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-right to open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, optionally tell us why you're leaving, and type DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Tap Delete my account.
You will be signed out immediately and routed back to the onboarding screen. The deletion job runs server-side within a few minutes.
03If you can't access the app
If you have lost your device, can no longer log in, or have uninstalled the app, email hello@zambid.com from the email address tied to your account with the subject line Account deletion request. Include:
- your registered phone number (the one you used to sign in);
- your Zambid handle, if you remember it;
- a short note confirming you want the account deleted.
We verify the request out-of-band (a one-time code to your registered phone) before we run the deletion, to make sure nobody else can close your account. Expect a reply within three business days.
04What gets deleted
When the deletion completes we permanently remove:
- your profile (handle, display name, avatar, bio);
- your phone number and any linked email address;
- your saved shipping addresses;
- your saved payout method details (bank, wallet);
- your push-notification tokens, device sessions, and refresh tokens;
- your follow graph, wishlist, and watch history;
- your chat messages from live shows;
- seller-only data: your store description, store logo, KYC documents, and stream archives.
05What we have to keep — and why
A small set of records is retained even after deletion because we are legally obliged to keep them, or because they protect other users. Specifically:
- Settled orders and invoices: kept for up to 7 years for accounting and tax compliance under Pakistani law. We replace personal fields (name, address) with a placeholder so the order is no longer attributable to you, but the transaction record itself remains.
- Anti-fraud and safety records: if your account was banned for fraud, harassment, or a payment chargeback, we keep a minimal hashed identifier so the same person cannot immediately re-sign-up under a new handle.
- Backups: our encrypted backups roll over on a 30-day cycle. Your deleted data disappears from backups by day 30.
Everything outside this list is gone for good as soon as the deletion job completes.
06How long it takes
- In-app deletion: your account is suspended within seconds and the data wipe completes within an hour.
- Email request: up to three business days, including the verification step.
- Removal from backups: up to 30 days after the wipe completes.
07Before you delete: closing out open activity
You cannot delete an account that has unresolved live activity. The app will prompt you to close these out first:
- active auctions where you are the current high bidder;
- orders awaiting payment, dispatch, or delivery confirmation;
- seller payouts pending settlement.
If you cannot resolve them yourself, email hello@zambid.com and we will help close them out before the deletion runs.
08After deletion
You can sign up for Zambid again using the same phone number — you will be treated as a brand-new user. Your old handle may not be available immediately (we hold it for 90 days to avoid impersonation), and your past wins, orders, or seller verification do not carry over.
If you change your mind before the wipe completes, email hello@zambid.com immediately — within the first hour of an in-app deletion we can usually still abort the job. After that the data is gone.
